Key West (2002)
On Sept. 29,
2001, Brazilfest took place in the beautiful and historic San Carlos
Institute, in downtown Key West, Florida. Jovino Santos Neto, piano,
flew in from Seattle to join Heather with the Rainforest trio, Magrus
Borges on drums, Claudio Spiewak on guitar, and Gaby Vivas on bass,
thru an incredible tropical rainstorm, not to mention a town devastated
by the loss of tourism, this being only weeks after the 911 tragedy
in New York. At a time when thousands of event's worldwide were
canceled, this concert went on as planned, a live recording, The
San Carlos was chosen for it's perfect acoustics, and Key West for
it's, well, "KeyWestness".
An audience
of about 200 rocked at this emotionally charged event, a night that
most will not soon forget, and the resulting live CD shows this
picture in time, natural, raw, and in many way's, brilliant.
